Overview

We provided art direction and packaging design for irogami chopsticks, the third entry in Tsuboe’s irogami series.

Developed alongside anodized aluminum chopsticks, the package responds to the product’s slim, linear form with crisp, angular lines—departing from the gentle curves that defined earlier releases. Every detail, from unboxing to display, was tuned to keep the visual impression of package and product perfectly aligned. A single color-reveal window shows both hue and surface finish, allowing one universal sleeve to cover the full range of colors. By limiting print areas to essentials, we also kept production costs in check. The structure preserves brand continuity while leaving room for future extensions.

Launched in tandem with the second product, the irogami chopstick rest, the chopsticks strengthen the brand’s narrative by illustrating a cohesive dining scene. The sleeve uses the line’s signature ice-grey paper, whose understated texture tempers the vivid metallic finish and harmonizes with other Tsuboe ranges while maintaining a premium feel.

The result—a seamless marriage of product and package—has been praised for deepening the brand’s overall storytelling and elevating its presence at retail and online.
